Dr. David Herbert
David Herbert is non-executive Chairman of Model Reasoning Ltd.
He is a Managing Director at ING Barings in London.
Formerly a senior executive in BP (London and Tokyo), he began his career in merchant banking with Baring Brothers in 1989. Today, as a MD in Corporate Finance, his principal field of commercial operation is in Central and Eastern Europe.
After taking his first degree in economics from the University of Dublin, he went on to complete his doctorate at Brunel University, where he taught for eight years. His first book Understanding Economics was published in 1978. Other publications have focused on his strong interest in the Spanish and Portuguese economies in the context of European integration. He has been a visiting research fellow at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.
Over the last decade, his lead role in many major privatisation and M/A transactions has brought him to the frontline of commercial developments in a range of sectors - telecommunications, airlines, energy, food & drink… - in a wide spread of European and non-European countries and, in addition, high ratings for his team in the various industry performance league-tables.
Dr. Herbert's role is to advise on the development of Model Reasoning's services to clients; to help guide Model Reasoning to new opportunities; and to oversee best practice in all that Model Reasoning's offers to clients and collaborators. His special interest in and knowledge of European integration represents a very powerful resource as Model Reasoning pursues further improvement and expansion.
